Forever Angels cares for severely malnourished infants by giving them good food, plenty of love and nursing them back to health whilst working with their families for future reintegration
-
Our goal is to care for orphan babies when they are at their most vulnerable.... and to return them back to their families when they are old enough to thrive.
-
Forever Angels believes in sustainability - our goal is to empower families to fend for themselves and to care for their own children once they return home.
-
Where children have no known relatives, we work with Social Welfare to find loving adoptive families for our children.
-
Forever Angels provides life saving care for vulnerable and sick babies - nursing them back to health and giving them a chance at a future within a family.
-
Forever Angels employs only local Tanzanian Staff - women who come to work each day because they truly love the children in our care.
-
Forever Angels accepts all children, no matter what their ability or disability. We believe that all children deserve the chance to be happy, healthy and loved.
-
Forever Angels saves lives... one baby at a time. "We can not do great things on this earth, only small things with great love." Mother Theresa
-
We provide life saving formula milk to some of the most vulnerable babies in Tanzania who have no mother alive to keep them nourished. This support, literally, saves lives.
-
Forever Angels 'Outreach Support' helps babies whose Mothers have died in childbirth and who are being raised by relatives. Our support enables vunerable children to remain at home with their families, while receiving nutritious, life saving formulal milk.
-
Wherever possible we work with entire families to ensure sustainable support makes lasting, positive change.

WHAT IS FOREVER ANGELS?
Objectives
The objective of Forever Angels UK is to promote and raise awareness of orphaned, abandoned, sick and poverty stricken children in Tanzania and to support initiatives to alleviate these problems.
THE NEED
There are thousands of orphaned and abandoned children in Africa, often due to AIDS. In Tanzania, about
10% of the population carry the HIV virus. As a result of this, many babies and young children lose their
mothers whilst still nursing. Other parents are simply too sick or too poor to care for their children. Traditionally,
their extended family would help support these vulnerable children, but with the AIDS epidemic effectively stripping
away this support network, more and more of these babies are remaining in families that are simply unable to care for them
and so they often die from starvation or disease. Others are abandoned or left in Government hospitals to die alone because
their families simply do not have sufficient funds to care for them.
Mission Statement
We aim to promote general charitable purposes for the benefit of the community of Tanzania in order to address and alleviate social and economic disadvantage to impoverished and HIV positive families and orphaned or abandoned children.
Our First Project: Forever Angels Baby Home
Our first project is a Baby Home in Mwanza on the shores of Lake Victoria in Tanzania. This Baby Home provides a stable, loving home for up to 60 orphaned and abandoned babies and infants from 0 to 5 years, who are severely disadvantaged. It is staffed by trained and dedicated Tanzanian carers and trainees and provides nutrition, love, health care, physical and emotional support until the child is either fostered, adopted, transferred or reunited with their family.
Our Second Project: Forever Angels Outreach Programme
After serving the Mwanza Community for a number of years, we came to realise that there are a lot of families who are able and willing to care for their own children at home, if given appropriate support. When a mother dies in childbirth in Tanzania the remaining family are generally unable to afford the milk formula needed to keep the new born baby alive. Forever Angels now works with a large number of families within the local community providing milk, training, childcare skills, housing and business setup costs so that families can bring up their own children and provide for them now and in the future.
Our goal is sustainability - giving families initial life-saving support, and then working with them and empowering them to fend for themselves in the future.
Our Third Project: Maisha Matters
'Maisha' in the Tanzanian language, Swahili, means 'life'.
Maisha Matters gives life lifesaving formula milk to malnourished babies in the community who have no other nutrition available, either because of the death of their mother in childbirth or because their Mum is too sick and malnourished to produce enough milk to sustain them. We give this milk support to the children in their own homes so that they can live their life with their families and communities rather than in an Orphanage. We support these families with grants to set up their own small scale business so that they can support their families now and in the future. This creates sustainability and empowers impoverished families to create a better life for themselves and their families.

We believe that all children are born 'angels' - innocent, beautiful and able to 'fly'. Unfortunately we witness many babies in Tanzania with such poverty stricken and unfortunate backgrounds that the angel within them will never be seen. We want to give every child in our care a secure and loving beginning so that they are able to 'grow wings and fly'.
